Getting Started With Raspberry Pi 900w

A series of public, day-long and hands-on events, held to introduce Digital Making activities, that are fun as well as educational, to both adults and young people in the Marlborough area. The series of events focus upon the use of the low cost Raspberry Pi computer, and meetings such as these are therefore known as Raspberry Jams smiley.

The first 'Jamming in Marlborough' event was held at the Town Hall on Sunday 4th March 2018, and was part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation's global "Big Birthday Weekend" that celebrated the Raspberry Pi's 6th birthday. This event was exceptionally well attended and we learnt a lot about putting on Jams in the Town Hall - which hopefully helped us make the future events even more successful.

An extraordinarily rapid Fourth Industrial Revolution is now upon us, driven by a range of technologies that are blurring the lines between the physical, digital and biological spheres. Equipping both adults and young people for a changing society, and the world of work that is emerging, is therefore becoming ever more vital, especially in the context of recent reports which estimate that 90% of all new jobs will require digital skills to some degree.

Anyone that is interested in gaining some understanding of the rapidly developing use of technology both in the workplace and generally within society, or just wants some fun playing with a range of digital projects will learn a lot at these free events.

If you would like to learn more, help, or participate in some way in any future events, please contact us by email here.
