Digital Making Kits
To support skills development and expertise in digital systems/computing and embedded software for all age groups, but in particular for the under-18's, Marlborough Area Development Trust (MADT) is making available a number of Digital Making Kits that together with a Raspberry Pi can be used to explore various projects and digital making methods.
Each Digital Making Kit provides all the necessary components, along with downloadable documentation and software to work through a defined set of projects and methods BUT please note that none of the Kits include a Raspberry Pi.
A Raspberry Pi 3 is recommended, although the cheaper Raspberry Pi Zero W is perfectly adequate, and both types of Raspberry Pi can be obtained economically in complete start up packages from suppliers such as:
and
- for example a complete Raspberry Pi 3 package can be purchased here and a complete Raspberry Pi Zero W package here.
All three of the MADT Digital Making Kit are now available to order on-line through links shown below. It should be noted however that for ALL orders the only delivery option will be by collection from The Food Gallery in Marlborough High Street (opposite the Library, Google map or what3words). Their opening hours are: Mon-Fri 7:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm and Sunday 9:30am-4:00pm. Therefore if you are not in a position to collect from this location you should not place an order.
Workshops and other demonstration events in the Marlborough area are being planned to provide support in the use of these kits. If you would like to be kept informed about upcoming workshops and events then please click here to send us an email - it would also be particularly useful if you could let us know if you would be interested in purchasing any of the Digital Making Kits as that would greatly help with our planning.
